My moviefilm

I'm done with it. Almost. Need two things from you to finish it:

1. You know when you get your haircut and they fasten that bib/robe/cape/garment thing around your neck to prevent hair from getting on your clothes (although it inevitably does)? What is that thing called?

2. There's a scene in the movie where John, our hero, sings a song with Chino, John's Bolivian host-brother nemesis-turned-friend -- what song should they sing? I'd like it to be something sort of retro. And with some latin influence. I'm especially excited to hear submissions from Brad Hoffman and Luke Mullet.

Next step will be to start sending these around. I'm compiling a list of folks to send it to -- if any of you know of someone who should be on that list, please let me know. Fame and fortune depends on it.

i'll give you a couple that don't have latin flair and let you decide if it would be funnier to have a bolivian dueting on hits of the 80's.

1. reo speedwagon - i can't fight this feeling anymore

2. foreigner - feels like the first time

3. the cars - shake it up

4. tom petty - free fallin'

5. prince - raspberry beret

6. aha - take on me

7. phil collins - true colors

8. gypsy kings - volare (i guess that's latin flair)

9. queen - you're my best friend

10. eagles - hotel california (latins love it. i heard it one million times in both spanish and english in guat. i'm pretty sure the gypsy kings sing it in spanish.)

Brad is right about the Hotel California comment; the summer I was in Bolivia, our hosts loved to take us to karaoke bars and they always made us sing it.

i don't know amy...but i too heard hotel california in not one bolivian bar, but in one bar and another eating establishment in the course of a two week trip. that seems uncanny, but true.
